ESP Exercise for Developing the Eye of the Soul
Ganzfeldt

Introduction

The Ganzfeldt and Autoganzfeldt consistently yields a 10% greater accuracy than chance performance.

Ganzfeldt simply consists of  -

  1. the reduction of external sensory stimulation through white noise, and eye covering

  2. the reduction of internal stimulation through relaxation

See - "Does ESP Exist?" by Daryl J. Bem

The receiver rests in a reclining chair in a soundproof chamber. Translucent Ping-Pong ball halves are taped over the eyes, and headphones are placed over the ears. A red floodlight is directed toward the receiver's eyes, and white noise is played through the headphones. (White noise is a random mixture of sound frequencies similar to the hiss made by a radio tuned between stations.)

The Ganzfeldt demonstrates the importance of "quiet time" and relaxation for ESP.

Practical Exercise

1: White Noise

Here is an interesting ganzfeldt exercise. The idea is to relax as much as possible whilst eliminating external sensory input. The exercise lasts 10 minutes.

Here is a sample of white noise. It lasts about 10 minutes, which is long enough. If you have some good ear phones, that will help.

2: Goggles

Next, you need some opaque goggles. Here is an easy way to make them -

You will need:

1. Circular cotton pads from any Chemist
2. Glue
3. Cheap pingpong balls
4. Nail scissors
5. Sandpaper
6. Elastic Thread (from a haberdasher)

I cut a ping pong ball in half using the nail scissors, and sanded down the edges to make them smooth. I also sanded off any brand markings. Then I placed each half on a cotton pad and drew a circle around it. I cut out the centre of the circle, and stuck the remainder of the pad to the ping pong half to create a large soft padding. I cut tiny slits into the sides of the ping pong where the elastic thread would attach.

3: Position

You can sit in a comfortable chair or lie in bed.

4: Location

Choose a location and time when you are unlikely to be disturbed or distracted by anyone or anything.

I have experimented with this ganzfeldt, and it is easy to do and very relaxing and peaceful. It is very conducive to entering a hypnagogic or meditative state. I found that after 30 minutes very clear images can emerge spontaneously.
